भेट्नलाई कति गाँठ, बोक्नु भो हजुर।
पराइकै थालमा कती, धोक्नु भो हजुर।

लिएर जानु भो, ब्यापारी कतिकती,
सुस्ता कालापानी मोल, तोक्नु भो हजुर।

उनैलाई भाकल गरी,चुनाव जित्ने दाउ,
कती खसी बोका बली, ठोक्नु भो हजुर।

छन त छन कती,बिस्वभरी हाम्रा साथी,
नाम चाँही पहिले त्यही सोच्नु भो हजुर।

तराजु यो न्यायको,छैन भार बराबरी,
हलुको मै देश राखी तोल्नु भो हजुर।

भेट्नलाई कति गाँठ, बोक्नु भो हजुर।
पराइकै थालैमा कती, धोक्नु भो हजुर।

अन्तत खुलास गर्दछु।तिन बर्षको अथक मिहिनेत पररिस्रम पछी मेरो भाइ पनि अब गजल्मा हात हाल्न थालेको छ।उसको रुची ब्यङ्गतर्फ हो। आफुलाई ब्यङ्गकार भन्न रुचाउछ।आज ज्योतिपुञ्ज सुरेशको भाई 'मोतीपुञ्ज सुरेन्द्र' को यो गजल. उसलाई मेरो शुभकामना .गजल प्रस्तुत गर्न चाह्न्छु।

You pretend to worship the god,don't you.But you don't respect the dead,do you?The dead are watching you from above,you shameless people…

And he babbled,mom,I just got hurt by brother.Am I gonna die?

There are these people who prepare for a war with a guns and gun bullets here I was ready for the inner war,a capsule my bullet,loaded with a magic powder, my gun powder,my courage, my gun.

Those saviours of dignity those in this thin line between sanity and insanity will save the world..

We had the same disease,he feared contamination of hands,me contamination of mind.

My mind was like an open book.The bullshit world scrapped some shit on it.Its high time I wrote my story on my own.

You can't go to heaven without going through hell and its all in our mind...

The psychiatrist wasn't dumb,he was just confused.Human mind is so complicated after all..

They say,psychiatrists go insane in their clinical practice.I would love to be a patient to,what an honour.

Every doctor has a patient inside,Every patient has a doctor iniside.

And finally they are out,
Those cute little masters ,
After so long in mothers' womb.
Ready for the new world out,
After so much of pain,
pain to the mothers,the labour pains.

We were one of them.
Born fresh born, so pure.
Through so many twists and turns.
Process so complicated.
Drenched all in blood .
Like these cute little masters

They cry as they are born,
Cry for what reason nobody sure.
Maybe for they miss inside.
But now in the cruel world,
Mabe for pain to the mothers,
May be for the labour pains.
They cry without tears and
They yawn,they sneeze
They play ,they babble after sometime
And then there is this time,
They smile,they laugh after some days
A smile after cry.
A laughter after cry.
And make people smile around.
Make them laugh,make them happy.

Have you ever thought?
What they think about?
What they feel like?
Think about themselves,think about us?

May be they think a lot,
May they feel a lot.

एउटै थिएँ म, बाँकी उनान्सय के ?
गजलमै भेटेँ आँफै,सय लाग्न थाल्यो।

बनाएर हेरेँ कति,सेर आफ्नै कथा,
जिन्दगी यो मंगल,मय लाग्न थाल्यो।

मन्दिरैमा खोजेँ, देउतासङ्गै सोधेँ,
उज्यालो आँफैभित्र,तय लाग्न थाल्यो।

मस्तिस्कमन मिलाऊ,कति मिठो गन्थन हुन्छ।

मनमा खेल्छ एउटा कुरा, सोचाइमा अर्कै कुरा,
बिरोधाभास मान्छेभित्रै,त्यही साथी बन्धन हुन्छ।

पोख्नलाई सहि मानिस , ठाउँ समय पनि त्यस्तै
गाँठो पर्ला हजुर फेरी,खोल्न गार्हो झन्झन हुन्छ.।

कालकुटै आउला पै'ले, अमृतचाहिँ अलि पछी,
देउता को,दानब को छ,मिले दुबै मन्थन हुन्छ।

The world knows,
how they all lived,
as king and queen.
prince and the royals.
how they bowed when asked.
some people thought,
they were gods.
but they were not,
for they weren't immortals,
And there was this time,
when they died.
each of them killed.
killed by their own,
as some people said,
The prince was insane,
for he was in love.
mind hid he lose,
weapons did he have,
addicted he was,
by the mysterious,
black substance.
shot them one by one,
and he was gone.
thirteen of them died.
many more injured.
but after all,
its said by those,
who surivived.
what if they were bribed.
by those who actuallly killed.
killed fora reason,
ALL those insane
and he was a scapegoat.
the prince alone.
and what about that
black susbtance?
everybody knows who gave,
he does still live.
and what about those weapons,
he had,who gave.

Times changed and many forgot,

those Thirteen ghosts still haunt,
in the palace brought down.
brought down a reason,
by someone who still lives.
the one who was overthrown
the living host king.

Dont you hear them?
dONT YOU fear them?
They cry all the time.
ask what was their mistake
and there is this prince
who yells
why was he a scapegoat?

dont you hear them

those thriteen ghosts,
each of their bellows.

Times changed
there were thirteen thousands more
those children,those men,women
some who killed and got killed
some who never did
those innocents, who died
many who killed still live
live for a reason
live with pride
curse those thirteen thousands
again and again.
and here they are.
those thirteen ghosts.
who live with them,
sing together,dance together,
with those thirteen thousands.
but they are royals no more,
they are like them
the ghosts.
they haunt us all the time,
those thirteen thousand ghosts.

These big conflits in the world are actually the products of bigger conflicts in human mind.The conflicts being the result of sense of insecurity regarding their existence and these world conflicts again create other conflicts in human mind..This compels mankind to go into wars with each other to gain confidence for survival as Darwin has discussed.This is just a vicious cycle that would continue until and unless intervention is done at level of human mind or else the humanity is at threat... and when we actually say that that god shall hail from heaven to save mankind,we are actually saying that we are the ones who should save mankind..It can be explained on the background of defence mechanism theories discussed by Sigmund Fred.One of them is projection- which says- You see yourself in the others...Think about all these superhero movies...These are all result of 'projection',a defence mechanism used by human mind, when actually we all are superheroes irrespective of intelligence,let us be sane or insane,,,,we are creating these fantasy characters to express our repressed responsibilties .So there is no point in waiting for that ultimate angel who shall save the world,let us save ourselves and we shall save the world.........

And there she read,

Held in her little hands,mine,

Trying to figure out,

Those beautiful time lines.

Some so thick some so thin,

Some so blur, some so clear.

After reading for so long.

As if she understood,

She said.

'Dear,I can read read them all

These time lines say-

That You will be a star

Your future is so bright

I will bee yours and you mine

Forever and forever.

'But,

Things aren't that easY,

You will have to work hard

And the world is yours.

Everything will be so fine.'

Stars do work hard,don't they?

Everbody do,don't they?

I asked.

'For they have to shine bright

For the heat and eternal light

And,

I took those little hands in mine

Trying to figure out her time line

As if they were mine

But I didn't have this gift

Gift to read those lines

And

I said,

'Honey,I am so sorry

Nothing I can understand

Though I can see them so clear.

'Its all right',she said.

And there was this time,

When I whispered into her ear-

'Honey,u didn't mean it,did you?

When you said you would be mine.

When you said I could be a star.

That my future is so bright.

But a secret to say as I part.

you missed those lines dear.

Lines so thin but so clear

One of them between

Sanity and insanity.

I knew it for so long,

The rhythm and rhyme of life song.

For there was this little kid-

Who held my little hands in his

And said-

'Brother, I am so pleased

I can read these time lines.

Not only read, feel them so near.

All of them, all so clear.

Brother,

I can read read them all

These time lines say-

That You will be a star

Your future is so full of light

But,

And Stars work hard,don't they?

Whispered into my ear and said

I didn't tell about those darkest lines.

Darkest of the darks, so clear

We will no more be together.

We shall be so close, still so apart.

But I did mean it when I said

That you are a star.

And there are these other stars

Trying to shine so bright but can't

But Don’t have that light

Time for their salvation brother

Help them shine so bright

Shine bright just like you

And its you, you to do that

And he was gone.

But got into my mind.

Forever and forever.

She was not there

she never got into my mind

He says again,again and again

the voice deep down my head.

Remember brother, remember.

You have this unique time line.

Time line so thin but still so clear.

Which shall take you between,

Sanity and insanity

And remember forever,

That you have to save yourself

to save those other lights

The Pathological Grief

Have you ever felt that,
Felt that ultimate pain.
That never ending grief,
Which is not brief.
As if you were insane.

First you deny,
then you are in rage,
Then you bargain,
For a painless pain
Then you get depressed
And finally you accept
And you feel the relief
After the pain so brief

A sequence brother

A sequence to complete
From pain so grief,
to the permanent relief
To return to sanity again
Though memories do remain
Forever and forever

And there are these exceptions,
Where you miss the steps
Jump from one to the other
Be in many at the same time
But you get that permanent relief
And memories do remain
Forever and forever

The other of a different kind,
Where you get stuck .
In one of those steps .
As if it went away,
As if it were a relief.
The sequence, never complete.
It would be back again,
against your own belief.
Relapsing over and over.
Deep inside your head,
That permanent pain.
Which makes you insane

That's when you say,
You are not in relief
Against your own belief.
That it should be brief.

I was trying to spell.

What is heaven?

what is hell?

I was trying to smell

Where is heaven?

where is hell?

I would ring a bell,

In every path,

So that they would fear,

The demons.

I would ring the bell,

In a tone different.

So that they could hear,

The angels.

I would ask them.

Where do I dwell,

Where is heaven?

where is hell?

Whether i smell,

Like heaven or hell?

Everytime did I fail,

From where did I hail.

Where did I pay the bail.

Whether in heaven ,

Finally,

I found that tail,

When he wrote for fun,

About the moon, about the sun

There were those lines,

He just wrote for hobby.

And then he started to worry.

If they made any sense.

And then he thought.

To write his story,

The story of a life.

The story of fall.

The story of rise.

He wrote it all.

He no more wrote for hobby

He earned that glory

And,

He became the world poet

That is how,

He became the world poet.

He would start one,

But it would never end,

About to end,

The other would begin.

He would write each details.

About the pleasure and pains.

Which made the story.

The story of a life.

The story of fall.

The story of rise.

He wrote it all.

The holy kill

And here is he,

the demon who calls himself

cruel and strong

and me a man,

weak and innocent.

he brings a knife and give it to me..

whispers into my ears-

brother go stab.

be strong, be cruel,

be like me.

i deny- I am a man,not a demon,

I don’t love to kill,

Nor do I kill to love like you

let me be weak,let me be kind

he laughs and says-

No, you aren't,

you are not a man,

you are a devil,

Just like me.

The other part of me

time to prove buddy, time to prove.

i refuse,

he goes and stabs them all,

One by one

with no merc y.

blood all around,

tears in my eyes.

Then he says.

bravo-brother you made it.

you are so strong now,aren't you?

I am proud,you are strong

we both are the same.

I am a demon so are you,

I am strong, so are you.

then i look at my hands.

oh god,the knife in my hand,

o god, I did stab,I did kill.

I am get weaker and weaker,

Not strong

for I killed,

killed the innocent

you never even become strong,

even when you kill the guilty.

my hands drenched all in blood,

oh god I can't believe,

with blood in hands I can't live,

killing the innocent.

What about a punishment

I think.

I take the knife,

become brave and

then slit my throat

Stab myself thousand times.

100 times for killing each.

Each of them

but I don’t die.I am awake,

I am not asleep.

Oh god I am alone.

thank god, the demon is gone,

the evil so cruel.

the evil so strong,

but then these voices ask,

will you ever kill?

kill the innocent around.

Brother can you hear ,

Yes I do fear, i could,

but I am not a demon.

I am a man,weak and kind

if at all I fear so much

Beyond my control

that I might kill,

I will rather kill the demon first.

then I would kill myself next,

quench the blood thirst with my own blood.

to keep them safe,

the innocent.

And,

It shall be called.

the holy kill.

Not at all brother,

the voices speak,

never ever kill yourself,

kill the demon

and you shall save yourself,

if you are killing yourself,

you are killing the innocent,

you become the demon,

its not a holy kill

kill the demon,

kill the fear

you shall be strong,

you shall be kind.

and you shall save yourself

'I had told her that when I cry,the sky does.she didn't believe .she was just standing there with an empty look trying to figure out what I was talkng about.may be she thought-I was crazy, in the world of my fantasy.Then there was this day,when I was standing by her side with tears in my eyes.It started raining like cats and dogs.i wiped my tears off and said-don’t you see honey,don’t you see that? tears and my eyes and tears in the sky.she was puzzled and said ,'Are you alright?'.and then a miracle happened in front of our eyes. lights in the sky, all around, lights between the raindrops. i smiled and replied -honey,I am alright,don't you see that?lights all around between the rain drops, cool lights, and a smile with tears. she was puzzled more and asked.'hey are you crazy'.i didn't have guts to say that-yes dear I am,I am for so long crazy. but how sane you are?

फुलमा भवँराको भुनभुन हरायो
गजल
आज फेरी आकाशको जुन हरायो।
लाग्यो आफ्नै गजलको धुन हरायो।

हुँदैन कि मायामा हिसाब बराबरी,
कलियुग हो आखिर गुन हरायो।

जहाँ पनि मिल्छ पित्तल मिसिएको,
अकबरी त्यो जातको सुन हरायो।

बगैँचाभरी बोटबोट थुँगाथुँगा रित्तै,
फुलमा भवँराको भुनभुन हरायो।

जताततै छ अचेल खोजी मन्छेकै,
माया हो कि मन खै कुन हरायो।

आज फेरी आकाशको जुन हरायो।
लाग्यो आफ्नै गजलको धुन हरायो।

त्यही हेराइको असर छ बेग्लै।
हिजोभन्दा धेरै नजर छ बेग्लै।

गाउँबस्तीमा अंध्यारो नै अँध्यारो,
झिलिमिली आज शहर छ बेग्लै।

छुट्यो नाता किनारसँग उसको,
चुपचाप एक्लो लहर छ बेग्लै।

सँगसङ्गै दु:ख पन्छाउथ्योउँ हामी।
घरीघरी आँखा सन्काउथ्योउँ हामी।

चोखो साइनोमा दुनियाँको नजर,
बेलाबेला आसुँ मन्छाउथ्योउँ हामी।

बज्थे सारङ्गी, बाँसुरी, र मादलु।
सोरठी मारुनी घन्काउथ्योउँ हामी।

लम्ब्याउँदा धेरैधेरै चुँडिन के बेर?
थोरैथोरै मात्र तन्काउथ्योउँ हामी।

नयाँ भएपनि खिया लाग्ने डर सधैँ,
दिनदिनै माया चम्काउथोउँ हामी।

सितलुमा सितलु जलन पिरतीको,
सधैसधैं राँको दन्काउथ्योउँ हामी।

सँगसङ्गै दु:ख पन्छाउथ्योउँ हामी।
घरीघरी आँखा सन्कौथ्योउँ हामी।

उर्लिआऊने छालको हुन्न रहेछ भर...........

बगाइलाने सधैं- सधैं हुदोरैहेछ डर।

बनाउँदै गयोजति सपनाजस्तै सुन्दर,
हावाझोँका उडाइलान्छ बालुवाको घर।

होला रहर कति किनारमै रमाउने,
फर्किजानुपर्ने आखिर छाललाई पर।

सोचेजस्तो हुन्न जिन्दगानीमा आखिर,
कहिले उठ्नुपर्ने कहिले झुक्नुपर्ने कर।

उर्लिआऊने छालको हुन्न रहेछ भर।
बगाइलाने सधैं सधैं हुदोरैहेछ डर।

सिउँडी भने हुन्छ गुलाफ भने हुन्छ...............

असल भने हुन्छ खराब भने हुन्छ।
अंम्रिृत भने हुन्छ सराब भने हुन्छ।

आज एुऊटा हुन्छ भोली अर्कै हुन्छ,
मुहार भने हुन्छ नकाब भने हुन्छ।

मौनता नै आज प्रतिक्रिया तिमीलाई!
जिज्ञासा भने हुन्छ जवाफ भने हुन्छ।

जसले जान्छ बिर्सी याद गर्नु उसैको,
रहर भने हुन्छ दबाब भने हुन्छ।

खस्दैन आसुँ तर परेली छ् भरिभरी,
प्रसस्त भने हुन्छ अभाव भने हुन्छ।

जेसुकै भन आखिर ज्योतिपुण्ज खुसी,
सिउँडी भने हुन्छ गुलाफ भने हुन्छ।

असल भने हुन्छ खराब भने हुन्छ।
अंम्रिृत भने हुन्छ सराब भने हुन्छ।

परेलीभरि आसुँ जति सुकाएको भन्छन् मलाई।
हाँस्दा पनि दु:खभित्रै लुकाएको भन्छन् मलाई।

कस्ले जित्न सक्छ बाजी लडेर एक्लै दुनियाँमा?
हारेर नै होला नजर झुकाएको भन्छन् मलाई।

सोचेजस्तो कहाँ बन्छ र फुलमाला जिन्दगीको?
गाँठोपारी पटक पटक फुकाएको भन्छन् मलाई।

कस्ले सक्छ रुवाऊन यहाँ मनै बलियोभएपछि,
जानी जानी चित्त आँफै दु:खाएको भन्छन् मलाई।

हुँदा आकासमा ज्योतिपुण्ज टाढा धेरै जुनरानी,
हिसाब बराबरि आखिर चुकाएको भन्छन् मलाई।

आऊँदैन बिहान कहिल्यै राती हुन्छ यहाँ।
घामले धोका दिँदा पनि जाती हुन्छ यहाँ।

कति दिनु अझै दोश निर्दोश जिन्दगीलाई,
आफ्नै मन पनि अन्त्तर-घाती हुन्छ यहाँ।

पुजेर कसले हिँड्छ र देउता मनभित्रको,
पत्थरमुर्ति वरिपरि फुल पाती हुन्छ यहाँ।

होला कुनै चिनो अवस्य साईनो पिरतीको,
यादहरु मात्रै आखिर ताँती हुन्छ यहाँ।

बाचाकसम खाएजति पुरा गर्नु किन पर्यो?
झुटाझुटा आस्वासन सबै थाँती हुन्छ यहाँ।

देशको कथा लेख्ने को छ पाना भरिभरी।

पराइकै भरमा खाने ठुलै दाउ छ हजुरको,
ल्याउनु भो कति पोल्टामा दाना भरिभरि।

सोचेर हुन्छ कहाँँ फुर्सद अझै उनीहरुलाई,
बुन्न सडयन्त्रको नयाँ ताना-बाना भरिभरि।

झिल्काझिल्का मिली बन्छ राँको आखिरीमा,
आकाशमा हेर जुन- तारा साना भरिभरी।

कसले सुन्ने आवाज सोझो 'ज्योतिपुण्ज'को
बेइमानीकै हुन्छ रे भाउ जमाना भरिभरी।

यादरुमात्रै आखिर सित्तैमा मिल्छ यहाँ।

जति हुन्छ गहिरो निको हुन त्यती गाह्रो,
घाऊ त्यही कमलो चित्तैमा मिल्छ यहाँ।

हुन्छ नौलोनौलो आसा नयाँ आऊनेहरुबाट,
जो पनि बेइमानीको कित्तैमा मिल्छ यहाँ।

झर्छ होला सायद आसुँ मनको आँखाबाट,
खोली हेर्दा परेली त रित्तैमा मिल्छ यहाँँ।

कसले गर्ने हो अब खोजी जुनरानीको ?
'ज्योतिपुण्ज'लाई औँसी चिट्ठैमा मिल्छ यहाँ।

बोली पटक- पटक फेर्ने धेरै भए।
सिमानामा हाम्रो घर घेर्ने धेरै भए।

नाच कठपुतली धागो अरु कसैको,

कथा भित्रभित्रै आफ्नै गाउँ-सहरको,
लेख्नेबुझ्ने छैनन् कोही केर्ने धेरै भए।

मुखमा छ राम-राम बगलीमा छुरा,

हिरामोती होइन चोखो मन काफी हुन्छ।
न्यानो अङ्गालोभित्र आफ्नोपन काफी हुन्छ।

कहिले हाँसो लहर हजुर,कहिले आँसु बर्सा,
जिउन सङ्ग-सङ्गै यति धन काफी हुन्छ।

जुराउनु कुन साइत अब साइनो गाँस्नलाई?
मिल्छ जब साथ त्यही लगन काफी हुन्छ।

उडिजाला बालुवाघर माया, सानै हावाहुरिले,
डढेलोलाई एकै झिल्को जलन काफी हुन्छ।

गाह्रो हुन्छ सँधै मनभित्र फुलाई राख्नलाई,
गुराँसलाइ आफ्नै पाखोभिर बन काफी हुन्छ।

सहनु कसरी कति मौनता त्यो मायालुको?
गाली नै सही तर तितो बचन काफी हुन्छ।

मिलन छ भने बिछोड पनि होला सङ्गै,
बुझ्नलाई जिन्दगी यति चलन काफी हुन्छ।

मिलनभन्दा पनि बिछोड गजबको।
जिन्दगानी घटाऊ-जोड गजबको।

जित हार बाटै सबै फैसला यहाँ,
खेल न हो आखिर होड गजबको।

सुखमात्र पनि किन्न मिल्छ अचेल,
हुनुपर्छ आफुसङ्ग करोड गजबको।

दोबाटोमै मिल्नुपर्छ दोबाटोमै छुटिनु,
आऊँछ घरि- घरि मोड गजबको।

मिलनभन्दा पनि बिछोड गजबको।
जिन्दगिमा घटाऊ-जोड गजबको।
